tatcha luminous dewy skin mist review

| On :

Tatcha is a luxury skincare brand that takes pride in both the quality of their products as well as their packaging. Every item is elegantly wrapped to the smallest detail. I had never heard of Tatcha until one day, they exploded with much buzz in the beauty world. Tatcha derives from Japan where founder, Victoria Tsai, learned about geisha inspired beauty rituals from a modern day geisha, claiming, “less is more”. During the bi-annual Sephora VIB sale, I picked up a bottle of their most coveted skincare product, the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist (1.35 oz, $58).

What it does:
This travel friendly silky spray-on moisturizer can be used anytime for a boost of soothing hydration, resulting in dewy, luminous skin. It contains extracted whole plant green tea, rice bran oil and red algae. The specialized pump design allows for an evenly distributed amount of product that will soften and smooth, without streaking or disturbing makeup.

Any product by Tatcha has an incredibly luxurious look and feel to it. They spare nothing when it comes to the detail of their products and this skin mist exemplifies that. I love the sleek glass bottle of the mist and gold pump. The purple shade fades into translucent glass so you can note how much product is left when you begin to reach the end of the bottle. The gold pump creates an ultra fine mist, which makes application seamless and painless. I have been using the Shiseido Ibuki Quick Fix Mist and have instantly replaced it with the dewy mist by Tatcha because of how evenly distributed the product applies onto skin.

I know facial mists aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and that many see it as an unnecessary step. I completely understand this, however, I feel that this luminous skin mist is so much more than “just a mist”. I think of it as part of my skincare routine as it is ultra hydrating and keeps my skin feeling incredibly healthy.
This is a super versatile product; you can use this as a toner, moisturizer or my favourite way, a setting spray. If my skin feels ultra dry, I will spritz this on before makeup application, but on a normal day, I tend to apply my makeup and set it with this milky mist. The result is a radiant and luminous finish that keeps me hydrated and feeling like I’m having a good skin day. Don’t forget to gently shake before spritzing!

If you’re like me and have combination/oily skin, you know the struggle of finding mattifying products. Once you find a good mattifying product, you’re stuck with the issue of looking a bit flat with no radiance or depth to your skin. Using a dewy skin mist will help create a subtle luminosity to your skin while keeping it hydrated with natural anti-aging properties. I haven’t come across another product like this before and I am so happy I finally took the plunge into the beautiful, luxurious world of Tatcha skincare!

Absolutely – from start to finish, this product provides a feeling of excitement. The packaging is absolutely stunning and the application provides a healthy, flawless finish leaving you with the feeling of utter happiness.

Have you tried anything from the Tatcha line? If so, which product?

  1. Lovely review!

  2. I kept adding this into my Sephora basket and then deleting it, I mean $58.00CAD for a face mist is really OTT and I have never ever tried face mist or even setting spray before so I don't really know nor do I understand how important it is or what differences it make to the skin. Do you think it'll work well on dry skin? I also only use dewy finish foundations so do you think this is necessary for me?

    1. I did the same! For the longest time, I couldn't justify the price! However, I do use setting sprays/mists daily so I decided to cave and try it out! Personally, setting sprays help keep my makeup on my face longer and I love the extra boost of hydration. If you have dry skin, I definitely recommend trying this out. They do have a trial size on their website if you want to give it a try without breaking the bank! This mist in particular is pretty dewy so you could try it with a dewy foundation, but for my skin type, I think it would be too dewy! :)

    2. Tatcha offers great travel size at more affordable prices...the travel size for this mist is only $15 usd! I got one plus the travel size cleansing oil...and they last a while. If you want to see the actual size of their travel size options, feel free to read my post about them at www.hulawithme.com :)

  3. I really want to try this one, I like the fact that I could use it both as a skincare and a makeup item!

    1. Yes! It really is a wonderful product! Let me know what you think of it once you've tested it out!

  4. This looks lovely and I'm glad you're happy with it. I've been looking into buying a mist but I always jump a mile when I spray it haha.

    1. haha, I know what you mean. The nozzle on this allows the mist to be finely sprayed evenly so it almost feels like a gently brush of dew over your skin if that makes any sense, haha. It's quite different from other sprays I've used in the past!

  5. I really want to try this. Didn't get around to picking it up during the VIB sale but I will at some point. Great review!

  6. This sounds perfect for my skin type! I'll have to pick up the mini when I go to New York as I've heard so many incredible reviews of it :) xx

  7. I love Tacha, but for whatever reason this product didn't work well with me, but I do love their skincare. Everyone raves about this mist, I think combo/dry skin folks love it the most. great review!

  8. I haven't heard of this brand before and this product sounds amazing! Just found your blog and love it! New follower!

  9. This sounds lovely! I purchased that cleansing powder from tatcha last year, though it's not the cheapest but the results are so good! The mist packaging is SO prety; I love purples!

  10. I've heard all kinds of good things about this brand, and this product in particular. I still think it is a bit pricey for what it does. If I get a spray mist this year I'd rather pick a more economic one and with SPF too :)

  11. Ooohh this sounds really amazing! I have dry skin so I love freshening up with a face mist.
