I can't possibly be the only one that adores blushes and bronzers, right? I mean who wouldn’t
want youthful rosy cheeks, or that bronzed goddess glow? My colour preferences for blushes and bronzers tend to change throughout the year. I use less bronzer in the winter
with a touch of rosy pink to give my skin a pinch
of colour. During the summer months I opt for more vibrant shades of blush
and a tad more bronzer. I’ve picked out a few products that I’ve accumulated
over the past little while as these have been on consistent rotation ever since
they were purchased, many being repurchases.
Bronzers. I have
four bronzers constantly on rotation. NARS Laguna Bronzer (0.28 oz, $52) is my “when in doubt” bronzer as I’ve repurchased
this many, many times and have had a loving relationship for what seems like
decades. It’s a great all around bronzer that gives me that perfect shimmery warmth.
I also love the matte finish of the Too Faced Soleil Bronzer (0.35 oz, $38 cdn) in light-medium (milk). It is the bronzer
I use the most during the winter months. When the Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer (0.38 oz, $42
cdn) first arrived onto shelves, I was so excited to try this. I use a
heavier hand as I have a difficult time picking up the product, but the application
creates a wonderful natural glow on skin. Finally, the newest to my collection,
the O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan (1 oz,
$59). I’ll be honest and say I initially picked this up because of the packaging.
It has a decent sized mirror that I love to use when traveling. This bronzer
provides a healthy natural glow that works better in the summer months for me,
personally.
Cheeks. It
seems that recently I’ve been loving the deeper shades of blushes (dusty mauves and pinks). Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Box o’ PowderBlush (0.32 oz, $36 cdn) is a rosy bronze colour that I use when I want a
super natural look or when I’m in a rush. I generally use this alone as it acts
as both a blush and bronzer for my skin colour. My absolute all time favourite
blush is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (0.15 oz, $45 cdn). Definitely on the pricer side, however, I cannot
rave enough about how beautiful the formula is. The pigment is incredible and
with one sweep I have enough product to cover my cheeks. Read up on my review
of this blush in the shade Mood Exposure here. Lastly, NARS blush (0.16 oz, $38 cdn) in the shade impassioned (reviewed here)
was recently added to the collection this year. It’s a wonderful natural shade
that I use at least two to three times a week.
Palettes. I’m a
sucker for the limited edition palettes. Each year I try to pick up at least
one cheek palette. This past holiday season had quite a few good ones, so I
ended up with both the Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette (review here) and the Tarte Cosmetics Bling it On blush
palette (review here).
What bronzer/blush combo have you been loving lately? Let
me know in the comments!
I must be a minority in the beauty blogging world because I'm not a big fan of blushes! I LOVE bronzers though, and I use them year-round. To be honest I only have one blush in my collection haha. I guess my naturally red-tone face might be the reason blushes don't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteThese all look lovely though (especially the bronzers!)

Nice to meet you, Mimi
Thanks so much!
DeleteYou do have an addiction! Haha! I bought Orgasm/Laguna travel size duo and hated both with a passion, unfortunately both didn't work on my skin tone. I'm currently loving NYX Pinched and Milani Luminoso, not so much on bronzer though.

Awww, it's too bad you weren't a fan of those cult favourites! I haven't tried NYX yet as I never know what to pick up! I'll look for the pinched shade and give it a try!
DeleteI've been using my Chanel les beige in #40 or #50 for bronzer, and then pairing it with a NYX cream blush in Glow!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lovely combo!!
DeleteOh my god! Everything here looks so amazing, I do adore the shades!

I also feel like I always go back to the Nars Laguna bronzer, it is the one I trust the most as well; yet that doesn't stop me from wanting the Makeup forever Pro Bronze Fusion which, because you said you have to use a heavier hand with it, seems like the perfect bronzer for me as I do like very subtle/ almost not there bronzer sometimes!

Blushes are my downfall. I feel naked without it. I'm a big fan of the Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl ones. Every color is gorgeous.
