the cure to dark circles? | tatcha's the pearl

Okay, so I’m a liiiitle late to the game. Tatcha's tinted eye treament, The Pearl has been out for quite a few months now, but it was only recently I got my hands on this beautiful pearl shaped eye cream. I’m nearing the end of my Origin's ginzing refreshing eye cream and was in the market to try a new brightening eye cream that would keep my under eyes hydrated. Then the Sephora appreciation sale happened. I love Tatcha products and couldn’t resist picking up the pearl tinted eye illuminating treatment when I was meandering the aisles of Sephora with my swatched hand-to-elbow arms!

What it claims it does:
This is a hydrating two in one makeup and treatment formula aimed to refresh moisture and provide a natural, healthy coverage for a well-rested eye look. Pearl pigments and pearl extract help restore radiance to under eye darkness. This tinted treatment works to address dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles and comes in three shades: moonlight for fair-medium skin, softlight for medium-tan skin and candlelight for tan-dark skin. Bonus: One of Sephora’s clean products!

Packaging
The packaging is exactly what I have come to expect from Tatcha. The eye cream comes in a stunning little twist-top container shaped like a pearl and coated with a beautiful pearlescent shade of purple to match. Forget the skincare cabinet, this one is ready to be displayed!

Product
The eye cream has a thick consistency in the container but applies effortlessly, leaving a light weight finish to your skin. I find that this brightens my under eye noticeably quicker than my origins cream that I’ve come to love. I use a rice grain-sized amount under each eye and swipe back and forth gently a few times before patting it into my skin. I’ve noticed that if I use more than this amount, I don’t get the same brightening effect. This is much more hydrating for my eye than the origins one as well, however, I do save this for my morning routine and use a heavier eye cream at night.

Verdict
I have been reaching for this cream every morning and it has quickly replaced my ginzing refreshing eye cream. I love the quick brightening effect and all the good ingredients the pearl has to offer, but I use this more as a skincare product than makeup. I prefer to have more of a peach undertone for my concealers, so if this had a peachy undertone, it would instantly become my perfect skincare-makeup under eye hybrid!
On days that I’m not wearing makeup, this is the perfect skincare product to brighten up my eyes without looking like I have makeup on. The swiping and tapping does need some time to get used to as it takes longer to absorb than other creams, but all in all, worth it for the end result!

Repurchase?
My dry eyes have been happy, so just for that alone, I would repurchase this! It does come with a steep price tag, retailing at $60 cdn for 13 ml but a little goes a long way and if you manage to use this as an eye cream-concealer combo, it may be a good option for you too!

Have you tried out this tinted cream? How did it work for you? Let me know in the comments!
