Now that
the warmer weather has finally begun here in my city, I’ve been slowly
transitioning my winter makeup out of rotation and introducing brighter and
more lightweight products in. Although my face makeup changes, my lip products
always seem to hover around the berry toned shades. This year, I decided that I
would introduce different lip shades into my rotation and the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in the shade Babe
has made my most recent cut. Today I’ll be reviewing this product for you.
What it does:
This is a
soft matte lipstick that gives lips a blotted-down, stained effect. Vitamin E
and C provide hydration to the lips while beeswax helps the product glide on
comfortably. The lipstick is lightweight, long wearing and aims to give a
highly pigmented yet stained lip effect.
Packaging
The casing
of the lipstick is made of durable plastic and has a matte finish with a glossy
central band that depicts the shade colour of the product. The colour coded band
and matte finish helps distinguish the crushed lip from other Bobbi Brown
lipsticks and tint products.
Product
The product
glides on effortlessly and provides a nice, even finish. The formula is smooth
and comfortable to wear throughout the day; I found the lasting power to range
between 5 to 6 hours for the shade I picked (babe). With one application, you get exactly what the brand
advertises – a blotted down, stained effect for a natural yet polished look.
However, if you prefer more colour, this lipstick allows you to build up to a
fuller coverage with ease. This line has a nice shade range of nudes and
berries.
Shade Colour
The shade colour
“babe” is a mid-tone pink that brightens up my face when I apply it. I knew I
liked this colour but have been surprised at how much I have been reaching for
this lipstick. I pair this with my hourglass ambient light blush in diffused
heat for a lovely, naturally flushed spring look! I always go for the one swipe
blotted/stained look as this has always been my favourite way to wear lip
products. I always dab off excess lip product to make it look more natural!
Verdict
This
lipstick is ideal for those who are always in a rush or like the minimalistic,
natural look. The product has an option to look both super pigmented or give
off a barely there this is my natural lip
colour type look. The product lasts fairly long and feels more like a balm
than a true lipstick. There is a hint of sheen when applied to the lip so if
you like an ultra matte finish, this is not for you. However, if you want to
look effortlessly chic but are always on the move, this would be a winner for you.
It is in my books!
Have you tried out any crushed lip
colours by Bobbi Brown?
This sounds like the perfect formula for warmer days when you want that more natural look. Love this colour too x

I've seen so many ads for this lipstick, but haven't convinced myself to get them yet as somehow I thought they would be more matte / pigmented / liquid lip type of lipsticks. However, now reading this, it seems like perfect lipstick for me, so i'll be having a look in store soon!
