Best gift idea's for Mom | Mother's Day

Although you shouldn't ever need a day to celebrate your mom, it's nice to have a dedicated day for all moms to share in the celebration of being, well, a mom. The older I get, the more I appreciate what my parent's sacrificed and understand the depth of love they have provided and continue to provide my brother and I with. As Mother's Day is coming up on May 13th, I have dedicated this post to my mom and the (mostly) beauty gifts I think she would love to receive.

One day a year cannot repay my mom for everything she does for our family each and every day, however, we still like to celebrate with her on Mother's Day. My family loves to go out for brunch as it gives us the time to catch up and have good conversations. (On weekends that we're feeling especially adventurous, we make brunch instead of going out)! Aside from brunching (and flowers - who doesn't love a bouquet of tulips or peonies!), there are a few great gift options I want to share that will ensure your mom feels ultra special and pampered on Mother's Day.

Skincare/Spa Day: Skincare is so important and I’m sure if your mom were to receive a serum or a face mask, she would be extremely happy. Who doesn’t love a spa day at home. Make it more fun by masking with her! Caudalie has an amazing Radiance Serum and Detox Mask that would be the ultimate beauty gift. Or, why not spend the day out at a spa! If you’re from Toronto, Shangri La has their Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris.

Jewelry: This is failsafe. You can never go wrong with jewelry and if you’re not looking to spend thousands on diamonds, I would suggest something from Swarovski. Their pieces are long lasting, sparkle and they have something for everyone – from modern to timeless pieces. I absolutely adore the Tree of Life pendant as it depicts wisdom, protection, strength and beauty; everything a mother is.

Perfume: This is a great luxury splurge for mom’s. I still remember my mom’s perfume from when I was a kid. She now has a variety of perfumes and although she doesn’t wear a perfume everyday, I don’t think she would be too upset with a new bottle of something fresh or crisp! The Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium perfume has a great crisp floral scent that is sweet and feminine.

Hand CreamThis is something that would be great for the practical mom. It’s useful and the Shea Butter Hand Cream from L’Occitane works wonders for dry skin.

Lipstick: It’s true, lipsticks are quite personal but I know my mom well enough to know the types of shades she prefers. If you aren’t sure what she would like, there are great lip tints and luxe balms that will make her feel glamorous in one swift sweep. The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine looks and feels luxurious, while being the perfect formula for the upcoming warmer months.

  1. I like the jewelry or perfume options for my mom because those are typically things she usually doesn't have the time to buy for herself.

  7. We don´t celebrate in my family, never did with my mother and not with my kids now, but I will attend a Mothers Day breakfast next week at my sons Day Care.

  12. I totally agree with you that just one day a year is not enough to celebrate mothers. Usually I go out with my mom, she likes this, so every year I try to find a place where she wants to go and take her there.
Love your images by the way
